Volunteers Needed for Workdays at Dickson Mounds

LEWISTOWN, IL – The Illinois State Museum-Dickson Mounds is hosting a series of Volunteer Workdays on Tuesdays and Saturdays in April and May from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. to assist with seasonal cleanup of the grounds, and other projects. Work may include flower bed cleanup, invasive species removal, and wildflower plantings.
Volunteers may sign up for one day, two days, or the entire series of workdays. Dates are as follows: April 3, 7, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24, 28, and May 1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29.
Participants should dress appropriately for working in the outdoors, and may need to provide their own snacks, drinks and lunch, and possibly some of their own garden tools and gear, depending on the project.

The Illinois State Museum-Dickson Mounds is located between Lewistown and Havana off Illinois Routes 78 and 97. The museum is open free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
