What's Happening at the ISM-Springfield...
Illinois State Museum will reopen to the public on November 4, 2024. Work is ongoing so some areas of the ISM will remain closed including the Play Museum on the lower level. We anticipate the project will be completed at the end of March, 2025. Check back here for updates.
The following exhibits will be open:
- The entire first floor including the natural history exhibit Changes and the Wildlife All Around Us exhibit
- On the second floor open exhibits include Kidz! Toys, Clothes, and Art; A Living Room: Artists Rearrange the Furniture; and At Home in the Heartland
Restrooms will be located outside of the building in a heated/air conditioned trailer until the construction project is complete.
