Directions and Parking
The Illinois State Museum is located in Springfield at the corner of Spring and Edwards Streets, in the Capitol Complex, just south of the Illinois State Capitol.
Free parking in the lot on the SW corner of Spring and Edwards Streets as well as metered parking (free on weekends) can be found along the Edwards Street in front of the museum.
Free parking, including bus parking, is available State Capitol Complex Visitors Center Lot one block west of the Museum.
& Free parking on weekends and any day after 5:00 pm (for evening events) is available in nearby State employee parking lots.
Designated handicapped parking is found at the front of lot. All lots are fully wheelchair accessible.
