Kid’s Day Snake Program at Dickson Mounds Museum on July 16

LEWISTOWN, IL – At Dickson Mounds Museum on Sunday, July 16, 2017, from Noon- until 4:00 p.m. the Kid’s Day program will be ‘Snakes, Lizards, & More.’  In celebration of World Snake Day, the whole family is invited to learn about and interact with both live native and exotic amphibians and reptiles.  The program is presented by the Central Illinois Herpetological Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and conservation of reptile species.  Participants may enjoy related craft activities and more.  

Admission is free; however, donations are appreciated.  Registration is not required.  This Kid’s Day program is recommended for kids five years old and up with an adult.  The program is co-sponsored by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. 

The Illinois State Museum-Dickson Mounds is located between Lewistown and Havana off Illinois Routes 78 and 97. The museum is open free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
