PD in Your PJs: Laura Mitchelle - Illinois History Day 101

ISM-Springfield, Online Events
Illinois History Day For the PD in Your PJs series, we invite you to come as you are, drink what you want, engage with the experts, and leave with 1.0 CPDU credit. Illinois History Day is an affiliate of National History Day and is a 6th-12th grade project-based learning program designed to enhance the teaching and learning of history through research, analysis, and discovery by providing educators access to quality resources, support, and learning opportunities intended to guide Illinois’ Future Historians. Future Historians learn to think historically and analytically while putting together a unique and thoroughly researched project that can then be presented at the IHD regional, state, and national contests. Throughout this presentation, educators will learn all about IHD, how to introduce it to their students, how to break it down within their curriculum, and what to expect if students submit their projects to be judged at the contest. It is a great learning opportunity for anyone interested in incorporating IHD into their curriculum for the 2026 contest season and a great refresher for anyone who has previously participated. I will also briefly touch on opportunities for judges and volunteers who are an integral part of the contest experience.
