Taste of ISM: The “American Elephant”
ISM-Springfield
European awareness of American mastodons occurred around the founding of our country. It was a time of conflict between scientific reason, religion, and westward expansion. Over time, the mastodon has fallen out of the minds of national political leaders, but there are still plenty of mysteries surrounding this iconic animal and stories to be told.
