Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage

A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

The Illinois State Museum is temporarily closing its flagship facility to visitors beginning Thursday, August 1, 2024, to accommodate a plumbing project that will involve asbestos removal and construction. The project is expected to last three months.

Get an up-close look at cicadas, discover why they make so much noise, make a cicada mask, and more. Even a few sneaky cicadas have made a home in the Museum! Help the ISM find them to earn a prize!
