The Mary Ann MacLean Play Museum

The Play Museum is a free children's area at the Illinois State Museum-Springfield. Load a jeep; crawl through a cave; examine fossils; frame art; explore collections of rocks, insects, artifacts; and toys; and play museum! The Play Museum is designed for children ages 3-10 and their families.

We are keeping capacity at 60 percent. We want to ensure everyone who plays in the space is safe. All visitors must sanitize their hands upon entering and exiting the exhibit.

If you have questions about visiting the Play Museum, please contact Gabby Antonacci at gabriella.r.antonacci@illinois.gov or (217) 782-5993.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Museum Society you can do so here: https://www.illinoisstatemuseum.org/content/membership.
