The Play Museum is a free children's area at the Illinois State Museum-Springfield. Load a jeep; crawl through a cave; examine fossils; frame art; explore collections of rocks, insects, artifacts; and toys; and play museum! The Play Museum is designed for children ages 3-10 and their families.

We are keeping capacity at 60 percent. We want to ensure everyone who plays in the space is safe. All visitors must sanitize their hands upon entering and exiting the exhibit.

• Some activities have been altered or removed for safety.

• Interactives and high-touch surfaces will be cleaned between groups.
