Break out the hairspray and your best 80s or 90s attire, and join us for Gen-X Prom!

No matter how long it’s been, we invite you to a reinvented version of this high school rite of passage as a benefit for the Growing Up X exhibition at the Illinois State Museum. So join us and live out your prom dreams, including all the traditions: great music, punch and cookies, keepsake photos, and prizes for best 80s and 90s attire!

Gen-X Prom will take place on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 7:00 to 11:00 PM at the Illinois State Museum, 502 South Spring Street, Springfield, Illinois, 62706.

The dress is the 80s or 90s prom attire. Proceeds benefit the Illinois State Museum's Growing Up X exhibition and public programming.

Tickets are $40 for Museum Members and $50 for non-members and include the bomb diggity food, non-alcoholic drinks, and sick tunes spun by local DJs. Beverage packages and individual beverage tickets are available at three tickets for $10 pre-purchased online or one ticket for $5 at the door. You may use tickets to enjoy cocktails, beer, and wine.

Sponsorship packages are available for businesses or individuals. Packages include reserved VIP seating, beverages, sponsor boutonnieres and corsages, Gen-X swag bags, and recognition by sponsor levels on event signage and materials.
