How much time did 19th century women invest in the care of their clothing? Join Curator of History Erika Holst on a walk through the Fashioning Illinois exhibition to find out! Learn how clothing was washed, mended, and made over to prolong its life, and how it was recycled when worn out. Go behind the scenes at the Research and Collections Center for a closer look at mended clothing and recycled textiles.

Registration can be found here. This program is free though donations are appreciated. Advanced registration is required and participation is limited.

Accessibility for Attendees with Disabilities: Real-time closed captioning will be provided.

We want our event to be for everyone! If you require any access services or accommodations to fully participate, please let us know by 217-558-6696 or email elizabeth.bazan@illinois.gov at your earliest convenience.
