Hot Science: Ancient Dogs, New Tricks

Dogs were the first domesticated species and have been human companions for over 16,000 years. This new exhibit will discuss the origin of dogs and their domestication highlighting ISM research on North American dog burials and the role some of these ancient dogs have played in a range of new research questions. Dogs continue to be an important part of modern life and it is clear both species have been changed by the relationship.
